I had quite a mixed experience at Edward Hotel & Convention Center. While the hotel grounds and lobby were appealing, my stay was marred by numerous issues including cleanliness and a lack of basic amenities. Overall, I felt the hotel was in desperate need of repairs and more attention to guest needs.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms I encountered were quite worn and not well maintained. The bathroom had visible aging, and although some rooms seemed remodeled, the majority were in poor condition. I was also disappointed to find that the phone in my room was dead, which felt unsafe.
Service
5.0
The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful when I checked in. However, I felt there was a significant lack of staffing overall, as there was only one person at the front desk who couldn't assist with any issues beyond check-in.
Location
5.0
The location was decent, situated near Fairlane Mall, which had a variety of dining and shopping options. However, the hotel itself felt isolated, and there were no nearby restaurants or shops within walking distance.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were severely lacking as both the bar and restaurant were closed during my stay. I found the mini-bar in the room to be empty with little support available for food or drink options.
Facilities
5.0
Most amenities, such as the pool and fitness center, were not operational during my visit. There was an evident lack of upkeep, with non-functioning elevators and areas that needed urgent repairs.

6.4/10
I had high hopes for my stay, given the hotel's location and amenities advertised, but I was quite disappointed. The room itself was nice and spacious, but the overall experience felt lacking due to several issues. The bar and restaurant were closed, and there was no room service or available staff to assist with basic needs. All in all, it felt more like a ghost hotel than a welcoming destination.
Rooms
5.0
The room was large and nicely furnished, though a bit drab. However, the amenities were not what I expected for the price.
Service
5.0
Service was minimal, with only one front desk staff available who couldn’t provide much assistance beyond check-in. I felt like I was left to fend for myself.
Location
5.0
The hotel is well-located near Fairlane Town Center and the Henry Ford Museum, but without a car, it's hard to get anywhere.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were severely limited with both the bar and restaurant closed during my stay. What could have been a great experience was instead frustrating.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel facilities were lacking; the pool and fitness center were both closed, which was a letdown. This did not meet my expectations for a hotel.

5.0/10
My stay at Edward Hotel & Convention Center was a mix of good and bad. While the parking was convenient and the staff were friendly, the overall condition of the hotel was quite disappointing. The facilities were lacking, with many amenities unavailable and the room showing signs of wear and tear.
Rooms
5.0
The room was large but drab, with outdated features and a few maintenance issues. I found it odd that the carpet was bubbling and the water drainage was poor in the shower, leading to unpleasant standing water.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly and professional, but they seemed overwhelmed and undertrained, as it felt like there was only one person handling everything at the front desk.
Location
5.0
The location was ideal for shopping and dining in the Fairlane mall area, with plenty of nearby options, but not much within walking distance outside of the mall.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were very limited during my stay, with the restaurant and bar unexpectedly closed, which was frustrating. I really missed having a proper dining experience.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were lacking since the pool and fitness center were closed, and I wasn't impressed with the overall state of the hotel. Many features looked neglected, and it felt more like a convention center than a hotel.

The common areas were spacious and comfortable, though some aspects of the room could use improvement. While the in-house restaurant was excellent, I did notice that some areas of the hotel seemed to need updating.
